What is the best way to teach a dog to fetch?

Get your dog to enjoy tugging. Start from scratch : use a paper bag with some pieces of liverwurst or other high-value treat and snake it around on the floor for your dog to get. The paper bag will rip right open, and your dog will get a big reward for playing with you. Do this a few times, then move to using an old sock with holes in it (still very easy for your dog to get a big payoff for interacting with you). Do these things for a while and be sure to never shove stuff into your dog’s face - always present the sock or tuggy toy by pulling it away from your dog. Make him chase it and even get the rewards while moving.
2. So now you have a dog who will play with you and looks forward to playing. This is the time to introduce the ball (you might want to get a ball on a string like this : http://cleanrun.com/moreinfo.cfm?product… )
If you need to roll the toy in liverwurst to get the dog interested in it, so be it. Keep the toy close to your body and make it very fun and rewarding to play close to you. When it’s time to start throwing the ball, keep it very close to your body. Use a part of your house that has a corner and throw the ball into the corner - the dog will be most likely to turn right around and return it to you

43. Is it OK to have one fish in a tank?

Ans. Fish have feelings in a manner of speaking, they wont cry if you insult them, but if you deprive them of company, even their health can be effected by this. Fish will live longer if kept in pairs, they will suffer less parasites and diseases with more of their own kind around, and behave differently in groups aswell.

Many fish will exert severe behavioral changes if deprived of their common brethren, such as Danio Riero, with a group less than 5-7 the fish swim around like a goldfish… you get 5 together, they constantly shoal (school) across the top of the aquarium. For fish such as this, it would be strongly illadvised to purchase individuals…

However you’ve noticed people saying bettas are best alone, and this is also true. Male bettas are fighters with zeal! they’ll not stop till the other is dead if they’re put together, even so sensitive are their tempers that aquarium dividers do not always stop them from injuring themselves while trying to get through the divider and at the other specimen… For a fish like this you would seriously need it to be alone unless it has been conditioned for spawning, and at that… you’ll only give him female company for a very brief time period.

What will truly govern your choice of fish that you purchase will be the size of the environment you’re preparing for them… You are cycling your water right? (Google.com see: Nitrogen Cycle - Focus non-terrestrial). This is an imperative step to take before purchasing fish.

So if you have a 10 gallon tank or a 60 gallon tank, it will make a massive difference in which fish you buy. More than this, there are thousands of species, the better question should be… What are you interested in?
