Motel or Hotel

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

My friend has just been on holiday and cannot stop talking about the ogunquit motels that she stayed in while she was there. She had a great time exploring the area and doing all of the normal touristy things. She had never been before and so it was a chance for her to discover a new area, which she loves doing. What she really liked was the fact that because she wasn’t in one of the big expensive ogunquit ME hotels so she saved some money and could spend more of her holiday budget on eating out in nice restaurants and visiting some fun places.

She thought that the motels offered fantastic value for money and they were comfortable and she met a lot of nice people while she was staying at them. Of course, the same would probably have happened at any of the ogunquit maine hotels but it was great that they managed to go to a budget place and still get the same sort of service that they would have expected from a more expensive hotel. Personally I still find that hard to believe as I think that you tend to get what you pay for but if she was happy then that was all that mattered really.

I would like to be tender and I would prefer to use my oven rather then my crockpot and how lond should I cook it at what temp. and what sesonings should I use.

Top Round Roast, Beef cooking techniques:
A beef roast cut from the top round muscle, which is the inside muscle of the upper portion of the rear leg. It is one of the better cuts from the round primal in terms of flavor. Pot-roasting is still the recommended cooking method for a top round roast, because it can be a bit chewy if cooked with dry heat methods.

If you are in a fowl mood and want to bake chicken for dinner, how would you go about it?

chuck it in the micro wave …and hope for the best………seamanab

—–

When using a whole chicken, then recipe is the best ever!

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-…

When using chicken breast, thighs, etc I use this rub. Be sure to bake on a rack over a foil lined pan.

1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons kosher salt OR 1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons ground ginger
4 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
4 1/2 teaspoons onion salt
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper (cayenne)
1 1/2 teaspoons ground red pepper (cayenne)
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed

The rub is great on pork and chicken. Store it in an air tight container in the pantry.

—–

first pick up a fowl from the fowl store
slam it on the counter and rub it hard with cajun seasoning and some worcestershire.
then wrap it tightly in alum foil (before sealing add half a beer to the chicken.)
cook on 350 for one hour. remove from oven. let sit ten minutes then open and serve

Is Red Bull really as bad for you as everyone says it is?

Friday, July 18th, 2008

No it is not. This is s prime example of how a little knowledge can do a lot of damage. The only problems people have with it is by using too much of it. Red Bull recommends having only 1 to 2 a day. The 2nd largest selling energy drink, which is also the 1st and largest healthy energy drink, XS Energy recommends having only one and no more than 2 a day.

There are things to be concerned about. 26 - 34 g of sugar per serving. 50 mg of caffeine per serving. Taurine. Guarna. Each of these is a cause for concern so people here this then go spouting off at the mouth for all that will, or even won’t listen about how bad they are. THEY ARE NOT!

I can go into each but I will actually keep this post short. Suffice it to say that is used as intended and in moderation there is no reason to worry about the concerns people have about energy drinks.

Hi people, could u please tell me which oil is good for cooking?

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Also i need to know which oil consists of least cholesterol,

  • Good Cooking Oils:
    o canola oil
    o flax seed oil
    o peanut oil
    o olive oil
    o non-hydrogenated soft margarine
    o safflower oil
    o sunflower oil

    * Bad Cooking Oils:
    o Vegetable shortening
    o Hard margarine
    o Butter
    o Palm oil
    o Palm kernel oil
    o Coconut oil
    o corn oil

also check following site for more details
    http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/cholestero…

No olive oil…too fattening!!!!! Plus it does not have a high burning temp….so the food doesn’t cook when it hits the oil….because the oil can’t get hot enough….the food then absorbs the oil. Cook with canola oil or light vegetable oil.

How many chicken breasts would equal half a pound?

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Hey there, so I need half a pound of chicken breast for my chicken noodle soup, how many chicken breasts would this be?

Chicken breast come in different sizes. Some 4 oz–so 2 would be half pound. if it is 6 oz–then 1 and 1/4. if 8 oz–then that is half pound!

——–

They normally weigh 3 to 6 oz for boneless and 4 to 8 oz for bone-in. So, anywhere from 1 to 3 would equal half a pound, depending on what size you get and whether it’s bone-in or boneless.

Ideas for a mature 12 year olds birthday party…?

Monday, June 9th, 2008

My friends and I are pretty mature. I usually just have a bonfire and pizza/cake. Its nothing big. We play football and basketball etc. I’m pretty much one of the guys so yes I can have boys. I was thinking about having a scavenger hunt at like Target and after that go to dinner. Good idea? Got any better ones??

You can do some things at home, you can set up a volleyball net and play volleyball and badmitten and being you like sports, there are plenty of things you can do!

You can get an inflatable kiddie pool, fill it with water, break into 2 teams, have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the pool!

Have relay races! Potato sack races, three legged races, the wheel barrel races where one person stands and holds the other person’s ankles and you race to the finish line.

You can have a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the pie tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first, wins!

Set up an ice cream bar, get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries, and have everyone make their own sundaes. You can go to the dollar store and get those tall plastic sundae glasses or get the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.

Have a bbq and serve hamburgers and hot dogs with some toppings and french fries. Or if you like pizza do that, or if you like tacos, do a taco bar. It’s your Birthday and your party, have the food that YOU like and that’s YOUR favorite!!

You can even do team sports, break into teams and play soccer, kickball, baseball, basektball, etc.

If you have a Dave and Buster’s nearby, go there for the afternoon and hang out, play games and do dinner or lunch there.

You can go to a park and do a picnic lunch. Pack up the food you like, again, whatever is your favorite, bring a cooler with drinks, a frisbee, some music, and games, bring a blanket to spread out on, and go there and hang out, eat, play, and have fun!

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great party and a very Happy Birthday.

……..

i’m 12 also, so i think it would be fun to have like a pool party if its in the summer. Or have a dance part and invite both boys and girls. i once had a pool party and everyone loved it! so i suggest that one! make smoothies and make fruit kabobs!play huge water games and other stuff! it not real mature but hey!, it’s fun. be sure to invite boys and girls! i hope i helped!

don’t do it at Target…plan one for around your neighborhood. wander your neighbor hood and make a list of stuff you see like
swing set
in ground pool (may have to be sneaky and peek into people’s backyards!)
red car
huge pine tree
6627 address # or whatever
man with a mustache
woman in heels
kid on a bike
spider web
Chinese restaurant

stuff like that around your neighbor hood.
split people up into teams of two (maybe boy girl teams) and make sure to tell them to bring a digital camera for proof they found the items- then first back to the house with the finished list gets a special prize.

Chocolate Coins for Your Man and the Kids

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Thinking of giving something special for your man? Sometimes, cologne and socks are just too familiar. You need fresh and fun ideas to give to your man. What about chocolate poker chips? You always see him with the boys on Thursday nights playing a friendly round of poker so why not make it fun for them. Chocolate poker chips are made of high-quality chocolate with a wide array of choices. They are available in Belgian chocolate, dairy milk and even white chocolate with edible casings. Some are manufactured as perfect reproductions of poker chips with $10, $20, $50 and even $100 amounts. What’s great about them is that when you feel the need to munch on something, you have a bite-size chocolate poker chip to munch on.

For your more discerning poker friends, why not give them a little sack of gourmet chocolate coins. They can always be used as alternatives for chocolate poker chips. Flavors are more varied with choices of bitter almond and peppermint gourmet chocolate. When you have enough of them, you can bring a few of them home for your kids. They will have a great time using them as prize coins in their board games or play money. The best thing about them is the fact that they come in perfect sizes for individual snacking.
