Tools for Aircraft Repair

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Flights are unlike ordinary vehicles their design and structure is unique. Aircraft tooling is quite difficult and it requires special tools. These tools will help in installation, removal and maintenance of flight parts. Plane tools vary from flight to flight. The tools used for repairing the flight depend on the company who built the aircraft. Most of the aircraft shops supply tools based on the type of flight.

Many tools are used in repairing the aircraft engine parts. Some of the common tools available in market are drilling machines, EMR guns, aircraft assembly fixtures and aircraft engineering devices.

Software also acts as a tool in aircraft repair. Today the technology has created easier ways for repairing the flights; most of the aviation companies are using software robots for cutting, drilling and installation of aircraft parts. Good aviation software has the ability to accurately estimate the structure and shape of the aircraft. If it can capture the design perfectly, building the aircraft will be easy.

Besides the tools required for carrying general operations, pilots also require some special tools for carrying out flight operations inside. All these tools can be bought from a good pilot shop. Most of the pilot shops offer required equipments like GPS systems, Maps, Goggles, Toggle watches, etc, for pilots.

Headlights and daytime running lights out but highbeams work. why?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

04 mits galant. is it a fuse or the headlamps?

DRL and low beam use the same filament, the high beam has it own filament in the same bulb. if drl or low beam is burnt out, either one won’t work but the high beam will still be working. So, change the headlamps bulbs. If the fuse is blown, the highbeam wouldn’t work.

…………………..

There are multiple filaments inside the bulb. It is normal for one to go and the other to be working.

Change the headlight bulb.

………………..

You may have separate bulbs for the high beams and the low beams are burnt out. I have two separate bulbs in my Subaru.

…………………

change the bulbs they have high and low separate. change one and you’ll see.

Pulsating Brakes?

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

ok i just bought my cra yesterday and now 2day i have a violent pluse when breaking from highway speed and a moderated in the city. the car has less than 20miles on it so i dont believe it could be wear on the rotors. Any ideas?

Take it back. No question.

Sounds like dodgy or ill-fitted disks to me.

…………….

Is this a new or used car? If new, possible grease on rotors, or anti lock system faulty.
Also possible rotors could be warped if wheels were over tightened, and not torqued properly.
Regardless, take it back to dealer. Brakes are nothing to fool with.
I have also seen new caes that have been sitting a while, and rust has formed on rotors causing this pulsating action. A little sanding with fine paper will remove rust and brakes wil be normal. But, that is the dealers worry, not yours, and good luck.

…………

When excessive braking is applied. The rotors for the front wheels heat up. this warps them causing a pulse in the pedal. worst scenario is shimmy left to right or rotor breakage.
Please have them checked out. est. new rotors, brake pads about $100.00. depending make model of vehicle

Irrational mother says Honda and Subaru are the only reliable ones? Yes? No?

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

My mother insists on me getting a honda or a subaru… i want a mazda6 and was gonna get one until one dumb mechanic told her that mazda’s were the worst. Talk some sense into here and tell me if i should sue this jack of a mechanic

she also says toyota

and if you think i was serious about sueing him your a little stupid… jeez

I’d say Mazdas are a bit harder to work on but not less reliable.

if your talking new that is, old Hondas and Toyotas are the best.

subaru is king if you live with bad weather

………………

Toyotas and Honda are known for their reliability. We own 3 Toyotas and have never had any problems with them.

Consumer Reports puts out a magazine that rates new and used cars. I would use it and research the Mazda6 if I were you if that’s the car you really are interested in. Mazdas are not the worst cars. My sister owns a Mazda3 and I believe that the Consumer Reports gave that car a “Best Buy” and she has had no problems with that car. Just do a little homework before buying a car. Good luck!

……………….

Honda and subaru are excellent cars, so is toyota. Mazda isn’t bad, and i would consider it a reliable car, not in the same league as honda, but a very good car.

Sue the mechanic??? Are you crazy, or just a little stupid? Now you sound like the lady who sued Mcdonalds because they served her hot coffee. I can’t stand people that want to sue over nothing.

…………………

Honda and Toyota are great, reliable cars, especially a good used Toyota.

You could speak with other mechanics to get their opinions; the first one might be correct.

And no, you can’t sue someone for expressing an educated opinion

………..

Just my .02

I hate to say it but… your Mom… and the Mechanic are EXACTLY right.

Listen to them.

Do you see anybody here endorsing Mazda?

Over 15 years in the Automotive Industary.

………..

Toyotas are great actually. Volkswagons are good too. However my last two vehicles have been mercury and I have had great luck with them

Kickstarting a motorcycle?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

(crotch rocket) whats the best gear to do it in?

Kick start in neutral.

If you mean jump start then 2nd or 3rd gear. I use 2nd but my bike only has 4 gears. On a bike with a close ratio transmission I would recommend 3rd gear.

……………..

My bet is that no sport bike made in the last 10 years has a kick start. If it did, neutral is best.

…………

neutral. or any gear with the clutch in! But i dont know any crotch rockets that you can kick start.

What are some cheap ways to gain horsepower?

Friday, June 13th, 2008

I have a 2002 ford mustang V6, I already have a K&N cold air intake. What else is out there that will do the job.

A Diablo Tuner programmer costs about $400 and they claim it delivers an extra 15-20 hp over stock. You’d probably have to switch to premium fuel, but that much hp for $400 is pretty good. Otherwise, you can always go with a free flowing cat-back exhaust (and headers if you’ve got the $$) and keep using regular gas. OR you add all 3 for even more hp - depends on how much money you consider “cheap” I guess…

There are several web vendors around that specialize in V6 Mustang performance parts - I included 1 of them in my sources. There are certainly more than this - google “V6 Mustang performance” to find more.

http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/products.h…

………

A really cheap way is to trade it in for a chevrolet camaro same year. Good luck.

………..

New plugs and wires if you have not replaced them in a while.

…………..

Go to a ranch and get some horses, then put them under your hood.

Auto Insurance

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

The internet is a great resource that makes it easier than ever before to find affordable auto insurance. There are some clever tips you can use to help get the coverage you need, without having to spend too much. Your deductible is the amount you pay when you make a claim before your insurance company pays. Raising your deductible is the best way to keep your annual insurance costs down. You can also choose to drop your collision or comprehensive insurance if your car is not worth that much to begin with. That is because the amount you pay for the deductible plus the amount you pay for the insurance may be more than the value of the car itself.

If you buy a lower profile vehicle you can also receive coverage at a lower rate. This is because high value vehicles are often common targets for theft, or are just more expensive to repair so they will generally cost more to insure. When shopping for health insurance you should pay careful attention to which doctors and hospitals are part of your provider network. You should also take note of any limitations on pre-existing conditions or waiting periods before your coverage begins.
