Facial Protection - How to block oils?

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Hi everyone, so I work at Taco Bell and when I come home from work I notice the breakouts on my face.
My question is if anyone knows of any products or habits that I can acquire in order to protect my skin before I go into that greasy environment?
So far, I have been making sure to shave and use a toner after cleaning my skin in the shower with a facial wash. But, I just don’t feel like it’s enough.

You need to use a moisturiser. Get in the habit of applying it every day, and it will help your skin. You don’t have to spend a fortune, either - the cheap ones are just as good.

You’re doing the right thing by using a toner and a facial wash, as you should never wash your face with soap. After the toner, apply the moisturiser, and I guarantee you’ll notice a difference

I would suggest that every time you go to the bathroom and you wash your hands, go ahead and wash your face off also. I do notice that people working in fast food tend to break out pretty bad.

What is the name of the structure,4 legs a roof but no side walls that you can erect in your garden.?

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I want to look it up on the web,but i cant remember what they are called. They have become popular for weddings, people erect them and take them down after, allthough i am looking for something more permanent.

A Gazebo, you can get them in Homebase or B&Q.

—-

You are probably thinking about an ARBOR - usually smaller, used as an entry to yard or garden flat topped or arched styles

PERGOLA - square or rectangular, usually has an open roof
GAZEBO - most often hexagon shaped with solid roof

all of these garden structures can be purchased in wood, vinyl or wrought iron material.

Macbook pro question?

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Hey there, so i have a 17 inch macbook pro, my shift and enter key have fallen off, I lost the shift key, for it happened a few months ago, but my enter key just fell off tonight, if I bring it into my local apple store, would htey be able to fix it or no?

I am very gentle with my keyboard actually. x.x;; I’ve never ever slammed down on the keys, they just acme loose.

You should be a little more gentle with your keyboard, but yes it ought to be repairable. It will likely be easier and more cost effective to replace the keyboard entirely. Take it to them and see what they have to say.

–Ok, maybe you are. If it’s still under warranty they should replace it for free (and it’ll take only a few minutes if they have one available).

……………..

hey, yea, they would be able to fix it for sure! either that or they’d give u a refund depending on how long ago you got it. give it a try. if they can’t ask them what your other choice is. ps. i have a mac book pro, too. hope i helped.

Is a system of global control of resources and distribution of wealth and employment possible, one day?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

In “I Robot” the world is run by a computer program which allocates wealth and work where needed. One of the premises of global control of resources and production is that imbalances cause war and conflict. Is there any merit to the idea, and could we ever see ‘computers’ run the show?

if we consider that there are now governments that govern over a billion people (China/ India) it is not inconceivable that there could be a government that would govern the whole earth.

If this would be the case there might not be the problem of multinationals escaping to lower wage nations and therefore not pressuring governments to cut standards for its own population.

there could be equal rights for everybody and a social security system to help low or non-earners

computers will surely play a role in such a scenario

—–

Certainly anything is possible, but as unpredictable as the human race is, it is hardly probable. Computers, at this stage of development, are still run by humans. Someday, we may develop the situation as descibed in the last comic strip of Mandrake the Magician wherein just a few people were left in the world. One group had developed plant life to the extreme with intelligent plants, etc. and the other group had developed machines to the nth degree with intelligent machines, etc. There was about to be a war between the two groups. The comic strip quit on that note never to be seen again. As long as there are human men (and women) in the world there will be competition. It is instinclive behavior. As long as there is competition, the species will survive. Without the competition, even in its most awful form, war, the human race will perish from the earth.

Seventy years of thinking, right or wrong.

Kickstarting a motorcycle?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

(crotch rocket) whats the best gear to do it in?

Kick start in neutral.

If you mean jump start then 2nd or 3rd gear. I use 2nd but my bike only has 4 gears. On a bike with a close ratio transmission I would recommend 3rd gear.

……………..

My bet is that no sport bike made in the last 10 years has a kick start. If it did, neutral is best.

…………

neutral. or any gear with the clutch in! But i dont know any crotch rockets that you can kick start.

Help with camera shots?

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

hi.. i have a canon s3is.. 6mp.. and 12x digital zoom..
im having a little “studio day” tomorrow with my friends and im looking forward to take great pictures.. im currently interested in doing close up portrait images and i want my pictures to appear sharp and clear..

i just wanna ask from some tips out there from professional photographers on the best lighting of the day.. ISO settings exposure settings and stuff like that..

If you are shooting indoors then try and use lighting from the sides, don’t use the on camera flash. Try using two desk lamps, one from either side, to light your friends faces. Put the camera on a tripod, or other object where it won’t move, get your friend to pose, and look at the camera to arrange the shot, put it on self timer mode then press the button. Self-timer means the photo won’t blur from the movement of you pressing the shutter. Use the lowest ISO possible, either 100 or 200 to get the best quality, and make sure you have the camera settings set to the largest/best possible quality. Above all, experiment, try and get some different lights and move them round to see what they look like and how your friends look

……….

Well…. the settings of all camera are limited…there is no best lighting…still can find unsatisfing errors…so I would suggest you just go ahead to shot for what you want and then edit these pictures by photo software or bring your cam to the photo shop, the professional photographers will help you to fix your problem, such as, delete the red points of the eye……
and the servise normally no charge

……….

Here’s a quick tip…

the best lighting of the day is:

7:00am -10:00am

and

5:00pm - 5:30pm

Dallas DWI Attorneys

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

You can be charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) if you are in control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, chemicals, or controlled substances to the extent that your blood alcohol level is above the legal limit. DWI and similar offenses are regarded as criminal law matters which could possibly result in felony conviction with a prison sentence. This is why you need to contact a Dallas DWI lawyer as soon as you are facing charges.

A professional DWI attorney will carefully review your case for defects. This can include a review of the calibration and maintenance records for breath machines, and having blood samples independently analyzed. They can negotiate for a lesser charge or reduced sentence and find expert witnesses for the trial. Your lawyer will also cover many things that an individual may overlook. A skilled lawyer can debate if the blood technician received adequate training, or if laboratory staff handled urine samples properly. Because the prosecution relies heavily on the results of breath, blood and urine tests, any discrepancy in the execution of these tests can bring them into question. For quality legal representation, contact one of the finest Dallas DWI attorneys today.

Tax Services are Available for Free

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Tax Services are available to those in need of assistance in the preparation and filing of their tax returns. Many of these services are actually available for free.

Free Services from the IRS

The IRS can be contacted either by phone, through their website or at their local offices. Materials and information are readily made available for free to taxpayers in need of clarifications or guidelines.

In addition, since the implementation of the Free File Program, federal returns and tax returns in certain states can easily be filed online. The IRS website has a list of affiliated companies included in the Free Program, and the taxpayer can avail of their services. Do take note that if you are not considered eligible to avail of the Free File program, companies usually charge a fee.

Taxpayer Assistance Centers

A more personalized approach is provided by taxpayer assistance centers. Should you wish to consult with a person instead of going on line or listening to pre-recorded voice messages, professionals in the TACs are available to render assistance in the preparation of your income tax returns and to answer any other questions you might have.

Community Volunteer Resources

Programs such as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly, in cooperation with the IRS, offer free tax preparation services in various communities. These services are available to taxpayers with low to moderate income.
